Rideshare

[edit] Talk:Rideshare
hm, why not use Talk:Rideshare for this? anyway, i'm glad that kasper picked up my yesterday's afternoon with ice cream under nice tree in yard of social center pergola in milano thought and turned it into, well, something. :) let's start some hacking soon! --Meinhard 15:20, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- You're right. Sometimes I move too fast :)
- I guess, for hacking, we just use whatever people want to use. My choice would be Python, but I'm just as happy to work on a PHP project, or Ruby. We probably need to set up some Subversion repo though. I never really enjoyed sf.net and Google is probably too evil, right? ;) Any suggestions? Guaka 15:33, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- I speak only PHP fluently. However I think my time for this will be very limited anyway.
- I've got a subversion-server running and could quickly set up a repository for that. --MrTweek
- Then we could start with some PHP stuff. But, it's probably much better to have several implementation of the same thing, especially for the RSS stuff. Maybe all can be in one repo. If you have experience managing repositories I'd say: go for it! Guaka 10:41, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, i just created an (almost) empty repository. I enabled anonymous read-access, hope that's ok. To check it out, do:
- svn checkout svn://yoshi.mega2000.de/rideshare
- Whoever wants write access, just contact me, i.e. mrtweek [a] flupps.net --MrTweek
- Hi, my name is ibrahim and I found this wiki while searching for a rideshare API. I'm a sr s/w developer and I would be developing a rideshare component/module or service (whatever you call it)
to our client's existing website. I thought it's a common feature and anybody can use this if this was a free service. So I start looking for services which already exists. Is this project finished or working? Our client's web site is not for general public its only for California and only a group of professionals. But if there's no alternative I can make it a service (with a simple XML API) and let others use it.
[edit] There's already a site using RSS!
On the survey of carpool services I found pass-europe.eu. It's already using RSS. We should contact them. Guaka 18:03, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
